Personal Training & Diet
The most under estimated rule when one considers "getting fit" goes by many names. Diet, nutrition, healthy eating, organic diet; call it what you want. This is without a doubt the single biggest piece to the fitness puzzle. Without a proper nutrition plan and some basic understanding of the what's and whys of "healthy eating" you will not succeed in your battle to lose weight.
I value what you eat as 7 of 10 and your workouts as the other 3 of 10 on the importance scale. I have trained countless individuals who show up with enthusiasm and give it their all. I love this effort and willingness to push out of the comfort zone all in hopes of reduced body fat and finding the fountain of youth. Most are willing to spend 3 or more hours per week sweating, pushing through the paces and increasing their fitness; yet they undervalue the importance of diet!
At the end of a session I typically address diet and check up on my clients eating habits including meal timing. Another factor I stress is that my 3 hours of weekly workouts can't possibly compete with bad eating habits, timing, and choices. This is has nothing to do with your ability to burn calories or my experience as a trainer, please read on.
There are 168 hours in a week. We spend roughly 40 hours sleeping, that leaves 128 hours to make choices. As your personal trainer I get your attention for 3 of those hours. You have 125 hours to make choices outside of your fitness program. Your personal trainer does not stand a chance if you are making poor eating choices. If we are burning 750 - 1000 calories per training session that's a burn of 2250 - 3000 calories per week. Three trips to the fast food drive through with a large soda each visit easily cancels out your workouts.
So guess what? You would now be working out with little or no improvement to your physique.
